Question: Surprisingly enough, the term ‘computer’ was first used to describe a calculating device more than 140 years ago. It was used to describe:
- Babbage’s analytical engine
- a circular slide rule
- Jacquard loom
Answer: a circular slide rule
Specifically, the Fuller model, from the 1850’s.
